Newmarket is unlike anywhere else we operate. The travel patterns are seasonal — sales weeks, race days, the July festival, the Cambridgeshire meeting — and the people who live and work there understand the difference between a horse and a thoroughbred, between a chauffeur and a taxi driver.

Cavendish Chauffeurs operates a specialist service for the Newmarket community, designed around the rhythms of the racing calendar. The fleet is the all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS — quiet, considered and entirely emission-free, suited equally to the gravel of a stud farm and the kerb at Bedford Lodge.

Tattersalls sales weeks

The defining weeks of the Newmarket calendar — and the ones we plan around most carefully. The October Yearling Sales, the December Sale, the February Sale and the July Sale all bring substantial inbound travel: international buyers, agents, vets, principals and their teams. We provide direct, discreet chauffeur service for the duration:

• Pre-arranged airport transfers from Stansted, Heathrow and Luton
• Hotel-to-Tattersalls runs throughout the day
• Evening hospitality movements to the principal restaurants & hotels
• Discreet stud farm visits during the lulls between sessions
• Multi-vehicle, multi-day arrangements with a single point of contact

NDAs are available on request. We maintain strict separation between concurrent client bookings during sales weeks — you will not find your competitor in the back of the same car the next morning.

Race days

Door-to-door service for owners, trainers and principals on race days at the Rowley Mile and July courses. Familiar with the owner’s entrance, paddock arrangements, parking near the principal stands and the post-race traffic out of the heath.

We plan particularly carefully around the calendar’s headline fixtures — the QIPCO Guineas Festival in early May, with the 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas drawing international owners and the most concentrated travel week of the spring; and the Newmarket Nights summer Friday evening meetings, where the racing is followed by live music and the demand for evening chauffeur cover runs late.

The same service extends to the broader race-meeting calendar: Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood, York Ebor, Cheltenham, Aintree, the Curragh (via Stansted) and Longchamp (via Stansted or Luton).

Stud farms & the broader bloodstock circuit

Discreet chauffeur service for stud farm visits across the heath and the surrounding area. We work with bloodstock principals, agents and visiting buyers to coordinate multi-stop visits with appropriate timing — including discreet pickups at the airports, comfortable transfers between farms, and the option of an overnight in Newmarket or the surrounding country house hotels.

Newmarket to the airports

The Newmarket-to-Stansted journey is one we run multiple times a day during sales weeks — ~45 minutes in normal traffic, with live flight tracking on inbound transfers and meet-and-greet at arrivals. Heathrow is regularly run for international buyers, particularly during the October Yearling Sales when transatlantic and Middle Eastern buyer movements peak.

For the trainer & the principal

Beyond the seasonal weeks, we provide ongoing chauffeur service to a small number of training principals, owners and stud directors based in and around Newmarket. Corporate accounts are available for regular travel arrangements — race days, business meetings, BHA events, evening hospitality and visits to the principal sales fixtures across Europe.
